Ezra Appiah

Ezra Appiah (b. 1998, Ghana) is a mixed‑media contemporary artist based in Kumasi whose practice weaves together everyday life, cultural hybridity, and social commentary. He held his solo exhibition “Thought of the Drunken Sober Mind” at the Goethe‑Institut Ghana in September 2024, foregrounding themes of mental complexity, memory, and personal identity. His work has also featured in group shows like The Come-Up: Transitions (Kumasi, 2024), spotlighting emerging Ghanaian creatives.

In 2024, he was named an Absa L’Atelier Ambassador, a recognition that provides mentorship, residency opportunities, and a platform to reach a wider audience. Through his textured, layered compositions and social-psychological narratives, Ezra impacts Ghana’s art scene by giving voice to youth, mental health, and the untold stories of modern Ghanaian life.
