Kwadwo Asare
Kwadwo Boateng Asare is a prolific and skilled painter with a repertoire of paintings that explore varying themes centred on the human condition. He holds a BFA Painting degree from KNUST in Kumasi where he lives and works as an art teacher.
Asare’s style is an instinctive blend of realism and impressionism. His work showcases a mastery of rich earthly tones. The application of colour in his work is distinctive in that it builds layers of light and life into every scene and figure. His affinity for blues perhaps reflects the warmth and calm that give his work universal appeal. Though figurative, there is a fluidity of motion and rhythm visible in the folds of clothing, bodily gestures and facial expressions.
